Grandmas are the best, aren’t they? They know just what to do to make their grandbabies feel better. With cold season going around and diseases like asthma on the rise, this simple treatment to help keep your lungs healthier is pretty valuable. It’s not all that hard to make too.

You will need:

  • 1/2 kg of organic red onion
  • 1/2 kg cane sugar
  • 2 organic lemons
  • 1.5 liters of water
  • 7 tablespoons of honey

Heat the sugar in a metal container until it begins to turn red. Add onions, thinly sliced and fry them briefly, then add water. Boil the mixture at a medium temperature until a third of the water has evaporated. Allow it to cool down, then add the honey and squeeze the lemon juice into the pot. Stir it all well. Allow it to sit overnight and then jar in glass jars/bottles.

Consume one tablespoon before every meal until you’ve consumed the entire batch. If you’re administering to a child, try one teaspoon instead of an a tablespoon.
